Henry Moore (March 7, 1831 – June 22, 1895) was an English marine and landscape painter.
Born in York, he was a brother of Albert Joseph Moore, and the pupil of his father, William Moore. He also studied at the York School of Design and the Royal Academy. At first an excellent animal and landscape painter, he gave himself after 1857 almost entirely to marine subjects. In rendering of wave movement, in veracity of colour and texture, and in subtle atmospheric effects he has few rivals. He was elected an academician in 1893. His works include:
